We Are So Excited!

During our last official meeting before Monday's departure, students shared what they are most excited to see, encounter, or experience during the trip to Wyoming. Here's what we're looking forward to...

  • the hiking (!)(!)(!)(!)(!)(!)(!)
  • experiencing nature outside of the city (!)
  • bonding with the grade (!)
  • bears!
  • time with friends (!)
  • meeting new people
  • spending time with classmates I may not know well
  • seeing ALL of the animals, especially ones we haven't seen before (!)(!)(!)(!)(!)(!)
  • making new friends and memories
  • just being in the Tetons. I've never been, and I can't wait!
  • all of the activities planned for us
  • seeing mountains (!)
  • fun with bunkmates
  • the amazing views
  • the bunks
  • spending time outdoors
  • the plane trip and time in the airport (!)
  • night hikes
  • doing stuff we can't do in NYC
  • making new friends
  • finally seeing the Teton Science School
  • not get eaten by a bear!
  • trailwork
  • getting out of New York (!)(!)
  • admiring the great outdoors
  • becoming closer with people I usually wouldn't talk to (!)
  • the ropes course
  • connecting with nature
  • EVERYTHING*
  • seeing a different part of the country
Monday can't come soon enough!

*Someone really wrote "everything." This is not fabricated. Excellent answer!

  1. For those 8th graders in my Algebra class, maybe you can estimate the Wyoming bear population by using the Mark-Recapture method to solve using proportions? I'm sure you won't miss my bad jokes, but I will be missing you this week. ENJOY!!!!
